Josh is a professional photo- and videographer born and raised in the Queen City of the Ozarks, Springfield, Missouri.  After graduating from Missouri State University’s photography program and working for the award winning newspaper, The Standard, Josh ventured into the exciting realm of freelance photography. Though fully immersed in the world of digital photography, Josh shoots B&W film and makes silver gelatin darkroom prints for his self-assigned projects.  Recently, Josh and his wife Kara decided they needed a change of scenery, threw a dart at a map and found themselves in the Capitol of the Lone Star State, Austin, Texas.  When he’s not taking photographs, you might just find him making music, reading science fiction, brushing up on his theology, or biking through the city in the wee hours of the night.

Josh likes to take pictures of  and film a variety of subjects, but he has extensive experience with these:

As an artist, having excellent images of my work for my portfolio is a must. Josh was a wonderful photographer to work with, friendly but direct; willing to listen, but also equipped with his own ideas. As expected, his photos turned out wonderfully – crisp, clean and informative. I was so thankful that he was able to meet me in Kansas City, since it would have been very difficult to transport my sculptures to Springfield. All in all, a pleasure to work with.

Josh photographed 10 pieces in the permanent collection for the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art. We were impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and versatility, as our needs are unique when photographing a variety of objects for publication. The results needed to match the exact colors and textures in the original works and he was able to capture them almost flawlessly.  Josh is a great photographer and we’ll definitely be working with him in the future.

I hired Josh for a photo session last year when I needed a head shot at the last minute. Josh was able to     schedule the session on a tight deadline and get me the photos in plenty of time. The photos turned out well,  and he provided me with several good options. Throughout the process, he was very professional, and a  pleasant guy to work with, consistently helpful and reliable in communication. Thank you Josh!
